Oh, this is bad...

Tonight was my first jaunt back into exercise since I got pregnant.... (yeah, that's almost a full year) and it wasn't pretty. I'm not used to all this extra weight so I now have the mom waddle... I can't run... and worst of all... I can't shoot the basketball anymore. Well, I can't shoot it from far away. Five footers I'm fine... but shooting a three pointer is now out of the question. My arms are so stinkin' weak that I airball it most of the time. Even shooting a free-throw I struggled. I had to use all my strength to make it to the basket. How sad...

I really need to do something about this.

Naked Baby

Wilson has started really liking his bath time. He will just sit and relax in the water and let us wash him. It wasn't like this at first.... he HATED it for the first month. Then he got used to the water and would let us do our thing, but when we took him out he would FREAK out. Probably because he was cold. We finally got a system down where we can get him out of the tub and into a towel fast enough so he won't cry, but it takes two people.

I love naked pictures of the boy because then you can see what a big head he has.

Redemption

Ryan is pretty easy to bribe... just bake him cookies or a cake and you can get him to do pretty much anything that he hates doing. He was so proud of himself for doing something today that he told me I had to bake him a peach cobbler. I don't know how to make peach cobbler... but I found this recipe and decided to try it. It looked easy enough and how can you go wrong with butter, peaches, a cake mix and brown sugar....

The answer is: you can't. I almost cried this was so good.... it was a crunchy, buttery, and peachy. Man I loved it.
Unfortunately Ryan thought it was a little too sugary, which means he won't eat any more... which means I have a whole 3/4ths of a pan left that I have to either dump down the drain or finish off myself. Something tells me that I'll end up finishing it off myself. Unless someone wants to come by tomorrow and take if off my hands.

If you've never looked at bakerella.com before I highly suggest it. I wish I could be half as ambitious with baking as she is.

Lacee and Lacia

So I decided that a really good project for me would be to take this Worldwide Ward Cookbook and make something from it every day... then blog about my hilarious misadventures.

But really I was just craving something peanut-buttery so I found this one in my NEW cookbook that I got for Christmas. They actually just turned out, ehh, but they had peanut butter so I guess mission accomplished.

Piece of Cake

These past two months have gone by so quickly!! I have to say, it's been pretty easy. Sure, I had a couple of breakdowns early on but since that first couple of weeks he's been a breeze. I can't believe how lucky Ryan and I got.

He had his 2 month checkup today and he now weighs 10 lbs. 8 oz. putting him in the 20th percentile. His shots were a bit traumatizing... for me. He was pretty cuddly for the rest of the day though, which was nice. Here are some other things of note:

*He's sleeping in his crib now and does pretty well with it.

* He wakes up at 6:30 every morning which is awfully annoying when he's eaten at 5am and you have to be at work at eight.

* He's started smiling a little and mimicking faces and its of course, adorable

* He still loves his binkie and it can pretty much calm him down in any situation

*He has blow-outs every couple of days (because he likes to build it up) and I have yet to clean one up. Ha Ha

* The dogs seem to be doing fine with him and are not aggressive at all... (sad face). Karl is actually a little nervous around him. Any time Ryan puts Wilson near him he gets really stiff and he'll slowly wiggle away from him. Hilarious.

I went back to work this last week and
I knew it would be hard, but that was ridiculous. I hated the feeling of leaving him with someone every morning, but it's getting easier because I really like the sitter.
