Gross Post Ahead -

Ryan had the awesome task of blessing Wilson this last week, and I was lucky enough to have a lot of my family come. I was pretty stressed out the whole day, but Audree took care of everything (because she is amazing) and it all went smoothly. She even went and got all the cousins Wilson headbands to wear, and they loved it. She also got Wilson a tiny little tennis racquet so he can start being trained in the family sport.

Ryan gathered up all his nerf guns that he received for Faux Christmas and had a dart war with all the kids. Tripp was running around with his shotgun saying "I'm a warrior!!" Adorable.

I was once again blindsided by the Bishopric member asking me to say a few words (I say 'once again' because I wasn't expecting to have to say anything at my wedding luncheon, and that turned out ugly). So I bore my testimony, and it went a little something like this.

I do know that the Church is true. I have a knowledge that families are also forever, and we can all see each other again. I'm grateful for the choices that Ryan and I have made to be married in the Temple so we can be sealed to one another and our children. I know that bringing Wilson up in the Gospel will be a blessing and a guide for him. I'm blessed to have him and I hope I can be at least half of the amazing mom to him that I had.

I'm glad it's over, but sad my family had to leave. I love spending time with them all and I'm so glad that we've gotten so close over the last few years. I know I was pretty spacey as a kid, but I've tried to make up for it and I hope they've noticed my efforts even though they like to tease me about it. Brooke, Britney, and Kim, I just want to say thanks for stepping in and being amazing examples to me. Losing Mom was really difficult, but the relationships that I've gained with you was just what I needed to help me through it.

I can't believe I got so serious for a minute there. I'm going to go throw up now...

Meet Dennis

My husband has a problem. And that problem is that he can't pass up a stray dog. Every dog he sees that's just roaming the streets, he feels the need to bring it home until he finds the owners or Animal Control comes. Well on Friday night this lovely rottweiler was wondering around with no where to go. After much protesting by me, I finally caved and Dennis (A name I gave him) has been hanging out in the backyard. I was really freaked out at first, because let's face it, rottweilers have a pretty bad rep. But Dennis gets along splendidly with our two little wiener dogs. Ryan thinks it's because their all Germans. Joan was barking at the window like a tough guy, but as soon as Ryan let her out there with him she rolled over like the weenie she is. (or as Ryan put "like she was french").

As a side note, how ridiculous is it that Animal Control only works 8-5 on Mondays-Fridays.... So stray animals are never stray on nights or weekends?? Lame. PLUS, we tried calling the Humane Society, but apparently they think that people are just trying to unload their pets so they charge $25 to just drop an animal off....

So Dennis will stay another night, because I'm cheap, and Ryan will get a little more attached to him every day. He promises that he's going with Animal Control tomorrow.... He better.

Ryan also said that if he was writing this post this is how it would go. ..

"My wife has a problem, and that problem is that she has no heart. She wishes to pave the planet and kill all living things."

Where do I start

I've been trying to read a lot more lately becuase I realized I watch waaaaaaaay too much TV. Wilson needs to grow up with a mom that loves books... not trashy reality shows. (which I do love... I really do)

So I figured I'd start by reading some classics. Books that most people have read that I never got around to. I love Jane Austin, so naturally (?) I started Wuthering Heights. Hated it. I thought the characters were dispicable and selfish. I've never really hated a book until I read that one. It just seemed to go on and on and on and on and on with the discriptions and lameness.

Then I started on Jane Eyre... same family, similar periods... This one was better than Wuthering Heights, but still not a favorite of mine. I thought Jane was to accomidating. I thought Mr. Rochester was creepily obsessive. It also went on for way too long.

The Giver... interesting concept. Made me actually think. Didn't particularly like the ending. I like my stories to be conclusive, this author left it up to us to interpret.

And my latest "classic"... Catcher in the Rye. I don't even know what to say about this book other than I hated it more than I've ever hated any other book in my life. Holden Caulfield is one of the most ANNOYING characters I've ever read about. If my thought process at the age of 16 was in any way similar to his... I'm sorry for anyone that knew me. I don't understand how this book has "changed the lives" of so many people. 60% of the book was him swearing, 10% was him discribing how he'd kill people, and the other 30% was about how depressed he was. I'm so glad that this book was not a reqirement for me in any high school class, because I would have given it scathing reviews.

Conclusion: Worst. Book. Ever.

Another Conclusion: I'm going to make Wilson and my other future children take an AP English class, because I have absolutely no skill in analysing books. I go exaclty where the author tells me to, and don't really have any interpretations beyond that. Sad.

Now on to Life of Pi.

Are you kidding me?

How in the world is this appropriate? I think the fact that this onesie exists is the reason we have "16 and Pregnant" (which lets not kid ourselves, I'm an avid watcher.) Yeah, I'm judgmental.

You can buy this lovely piece of clothing here....

3 Munth Mann

This kid has grown so much in just one month. you can tell from the last hippo picture that he is now bigger than it. I still can't believe how easy my baby has been from the beginning. I came to the realization today that I gave him three last names. Whoops. (Ryan said on the next kid we'll give them three first names to balance it out.)

He's holding his head up really well now. He can sit in his Bumbo okay, but he still needs a blanket to prop him up because his core is definitely lacking. I'm afraid he won't roll over any time soon because I don't do nearly enough tummy time with him. I'd rather hold him than set him down on his stomach. He definitely favors his right side, and is always looking over his right shoulder. I've tried to get him to go left and he does every once in a while, but it's a battle.

He is still sleeping well and only wakes up once in the night. I've never really had to stay up with him all night because he is sooooo easy to put back down.

He's a happy kid and it's easy to get him to smile (except when I take pictures)... I haven't really learned what his different cries mean because he usually only cries when he's hungry.

All in all I like him a lot and love these new stages that he's getting to. My whole family is coming up next week so we'll have some fun bonding time. Wilson told me he can't wait to see his cousins!!
