Labor was quite the experience for me... it was horrific... long.... tiring... and not what I expected. I started having contractions two days before I actually went in to the hospital. I wasn't sure if I was actually having them or if it was just false labor, and Ryan was convinced that I was overreacting. It was after all three weeks before my due date. On Monday morning around 2 am I finally got up the courage to ask Ryan to take me to the hospital... Great timing huh? I finally decided I needed to go because I was really unsure if my water had broken or not and I needed peace of mind.
We got to LDS Hospital around 3 am and they checked me. It turns out my water had broke so they ordered me an epidural and petocin. I know, I had said previously that I was thinking I wouldn't get an epidural... obviously that didn't last. The contractions the previous two days had been enough for me.
We waited... and waited... listened to some music... (Ryan wanted him to be familiar with The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Clapton, and The Beatles.) Slept... waited... started feeling contractions in one spot and wanted to die... (that was just me) got the epidural replaced... threw up... couldn't feel my entire body... started pushing... pushed for two hours (30 minutes of which Ryan and I had been left alone for ???) and finally he was born.
This picture was taken the day after he was born when he got his first bath... adorable, I know.

So a month later and we've survived... The first week wasn't bad because I had my sister her to help me. The week after that I was about to give up. Christmas was great because I had Ryan's family around to help and then after that it has been pretty decent. I've had bad days... but the kid is adorable. I've cried more in the last month than I probably have in my whole life... but I suppose that's normal.

What's my baby like? I'd say he's a pretty dern good baby. He sleeps alot... he doesn't fuss to much unless he's hungry.. and he LOVES his binky. He's had his first Christmas and New Years Party. I'm a little sad that I was not prepared at all for Christmas so I'll have to make it a bigger deal for him next year. He's been a lot of places already (Target, Grocery Shopping, Training Table, Walgreens, Arella's, and ARIZONA to see my family.) I think he's real cute, his dad is enamored and Chris and Audree spoil him already. He's going to be one lucky kid.

I LOVE the labor post! And your kid is adorable! I kind of want to steal him...But I won't!
I'm excited to meet him--once I'm certain his head won't fall off when I pick him up.
You should also know that his picture is currently the wallpaper on my phone. Promise I'm not creepy.
Those are some good bands. All you can really hope for in a son is that he grows up to appreciate Zeppelin, Boston, Rush, etc.
